Event Description

Author Joanna Sliwa will talk about the remarkable and inspiring true story of Dr. Josephine Janina Mehlberg—a Jewish mathematician who saved thousands of lives in Nazi-occupied Poland by masquerading as a Polish aristocrat.

This event is presented in partnership with the Holocaust Resource Center of Kean University and is part of a series called What We Learned from the Holocaust: Save One Life, Save the World. This series was made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
